What should I consider when I pick a pool shape and size? Things to consider: When choosing the location of your pool you will need to consider possible unseen obstacles, such
as underground utilities and access for a Tractorto excavate the pool. Remember to leave plenty of room for the over dig, we recommend adding 4' on both the length and width. You can
view a dig spec sheet by clicking on the (dig sheet) link located next to your chosen pool shape during the shopping and quoting section of our site.
Why choose Steel vs. Polymer or Polymer vs. Steel? The choice of steel and polymer is really your preference. There are no advantages to one over the other. Steel has been
marketed against by saying that it rusts, but realistically the galvanization process stops rust. Polymer has been marketed against by saying that it cracks - it will only crack if the wrong backfill
is used. Homeowners in the North typically use Steel, and the Homeowners in the South typically use the Polymer wall. Polymer will stand up equally well to freezing temperatures, but steel is
typically what people are familiar with in those areas.
Why choose a Polymer wall? Made from non-corrosive structural polymer, the panels are strong and stable, non-biodegradable polymer foams that greatly increase the longevity of
the pool, cellular structure that acts as a thermal screen, holding heat in the pool and blocking the penetrating cold from surrounding soils.
Why choose a Steel wall? Our industry-proven steel wall pools continue to set the standard. Each panel is constructed using the highest quality 14-gauge steel with galvanized
coating. Self-piercing, auto-locking, double zinc plated and carbon steel rivets representing the very latest in fabrication methods that securely rigidize and stabilize each panel, without destroying
the integrity of the galvanized coating. And, of course, the ability to completely install a swimming pool, backfill and complete the deck prior to installing the liner and filling the pool.
Should I use a 42" or 48" wall? The height of 42" wall gives 3' water depth in the shallow end of the pool. The 48" high panels, allowing for 6" more water depth on the shallow
end of the pool (3'6" water depth); extra depth ideal for flat bottom pool designs, and increases the comfort level of adults using the shallow end of the hopper design pools.
20mil, 30/20mil, 30mil LINERS, which one should I choose? 20mil is our industry standard thickness. Our 30/20mil blended material is offered as a more affordable way for
you to purchase a more durable vinyl liner. This option gives you a 30mil vinyl wall for durability with a 20mil vinyl floor for affordability. The 30mil is the most durable vinyl liner offered in the
industry. For more on this topic go to: What Liner is Right

How long does a Sunland Pool kit take to build? Of course the times can vary
depending on the number of helpers, understanding of the building process, and what type of pool and add-ons were purchased. Having said all of that, a typical timeframe for a standard pool with
minimal add-ons would falls in the range of 1-3 weeks from "dig" start to finish including connecting the services and applying the finishes around the swimming pool. The swimming pool shell/panels
take about a day to assemble and are with precut panels for skimmers, inlets, vacuum points and lights. For more on this visit How it's
Done and our "quick overview" installation Video.
How long are the guarantees on the Sunland Pool kit? The Sunland Pool kit itself
comes with a Lifetime limited manufacturer's warranty as standard. The Sunland Liners come with a 20 year warranty. To view the terms and conditions of our warranties view
Sunland Warranties.
How long should my swimming pool liner last? This is one of those questions that
are almost impossible to answer. On average a Sunland Pool liner will last you well over ten years. With liners being sold in different grades and thickness levels as well as the outside elements and
chemical elements that a liner becomes subjected to, it becomes hard to put a timeframe on your liners longevity. Since the manufacturing process for liners has improved dramatically over
the years and swimming pool liners have become more resilient to UV rays, incorrect chemical balancing and harsher use, liners are lasting longer and longer. A liner that is properly cared for and
chemically balanced should last a good 20 years, possibly more. We offer Chlorine Free systems that can help increase the life of your swimming pool liner, call us for details or go to
Alternative Sanitation Options.
How long does it take to get Sunland Pool package delivered? Around 1 to 2
weeks, on average, from placing your order. You can view more information on our freight and shipment policies by clicking here, Freight Policies and
Procedures.
Do I need planning permission for a swimming pool? It is recommended that
you contact the local authorities to find out whether or not you require consent. Permissions and permits vary depending on where you live. This is not a step you want to avoid or overlook, as it
could be detrimental to you if you became libel for something that occurred in a swimming pool (belonging to you) that required proper permitting. Contact your local planning and building department
to settle this question. Also keep in mind that your homeowners insurance company might also have specific requirements to cover you for liability, in some cases you are required to place a locking
fence or gate around your pool.
What are Dig Sheets? The dig sheets show you all of the standard interior dimensions
of your pool as well as the over-dig measurements. (over-dig is the additional space to dig around your pool) A dig sheet provides you with a blueprint of building specifications, including step
options, plumbing, and light location. To view Dig Sheet specs, click link.
What size swimming pool do I need? You really need to take into account the size
of your yard or site location to properly answer this. Viewing the specific dig sheet attached to the pool you select on this site will help you see the dig area required for that pool. Think about
the walk around space you plan to have on the outer edge of your pool, consider what you are using your pool for - will it be big enough? If you are in need of a consultation regarding what size pool
you need just give us a call. No obligation and free of charge, we can help guide you through the process.
Where should I position the pool? A good idea is to mark out the swimming pool on
the ground with a chalk powder or spray to establish the best location for it. Keep in mind any hazardous areas or trees that could present problems to your new pool (root damage and debris etc),
ensure that no drains, sewerage pipes, electric cables or sprinklers are in the way. Take into consideration where the sun shines the most or where the shade hits the most. Also think ahead as to
where services to the swimming pool will be located and the distance to areas that could be damaged by overflow or splashing.
What equipment and access do I need to build my swimming pool ? Swimming pools can
be dug out with tractor These usually requires five feet of access. This process, if properly planned out and proper equipment rented -can be performed.
I have heavy clay on site or a high water table, is this a problem? No these types
of pool system can be built in pretty much any soil or site conditions. As Sunland Pool is not a monolithic pool construction like an old fashioned concrete block or reinforced concrete shell there
are very few structural issues. The Sunland Pool shell is self-supporting and independent from the pool floor/base. This means that rising groundwater and clay heave don't affect the integrity of the
pool structure. The backfill being two thirds pea shingle acts as a damper and allows for movement around the pool without causing structural problems due to heave etc... A simple French drain can
also be built alongside the pool in cases where ground water levels are high or vary throughout the year.
